Wellington Fire Area - New Zealand

Station 23 - Thorndon

Engine Bay - Interactive Tour

On the right is a Scania fire appliance.

By clicking on it, you can select lockers to look in as well as climb inside and have a look at the latest in fire service communications and vehicle technology.

On the left is a Metz turntable ladder.

(This ladder has been recently superceded by a new Type 5 Scania aerial appliance)

The ladder is mounted on a Mercedes 4X2 truck chassis. Like the Scania, you are welcome to click on the ladder appliance and examine both the ladder and the equipment it carries. No hand-me-downs or free stuff here. Our fire station invests in only the finest and safest equipment. We do everything to ensure our trucks are kitted out with only the best, and that we have the newest and most secure products. Our community knows they can rely on us.

You can see relevant statistics about these unique vehicles and start your interactive tour, by clicking on the truck you want to explore further.
