The turntable ladder is mounted on a Mercedes 1625 cab and chassis and is powered by a Mercedes V8 diesel engine generating 250 HP.
The gearbox is a 4 stage automatic, with transmission retarder and two power take off units.
The complete unit weighs 14.6 tonnes. The unit has a turning circle of 17.2 metres which makes it able to access many of Wellington's tight back streets and alleys.
