Wellington Fire District - New Zealand
Station 23 - Thorndon
Thorndon 231 Feeder Hose Locker
|
In its rear locker Thorndon 231 carries 6x30 metre lengths of 90mm diameter feedline hose
These are used to supply low pressure water from the fire hydrant to the pump
On the back step there are two standpipes used to access fire hydrants in the ground. There are also two key and bars to operate the hydrants.
The back step is also used to make access to the deck of the truck and to remove the three ladders on Thorndon 231.
When the truck has its pump engaged the rear air suspension is automatically lowered to allow easier and safer access to the ladders and the deck of the truck
